In My Closet: Oxford Shoes.

I feel that, every time I'm in a shoe store or the shoe section, I gravitate towards the comfortable, elegant footwear known as the Oxford shoes. To me every pair is so spiffy. It goes well with all sorts of outfits and can give a very versatile look.

Here are some of the two-pairs I recently purchased.

Video: Hard.

Hard ft. Young Jeezy - Rihanna

Pics of the video:

Press play:

I miss when music videos were like this. I'm talking about the creativity and effort put into it. Seems like now a days music videos don't have this exciting "story line" or concept. Not to say it's all bad, it's just not as interesting anymore.

Now I feel like blowing stuff up!

Walk In My Shoes: Kid Cudi Show.

Initially, I made up my mind about not going to the Kid Cudi show at The Regency Ballroom in SF, but then my friend, we'll call him.. 'Blah Blah', gave me some news that his friends couldn't go with him to the show. I decided to accompany him and invite myself. The dialogue went a little something like this:

Me: "They're both not going? Are you gonna go by yourself again(referring to seeing him earlier in the year)?"
Blah Blah: "Yea, I mean I have no choice." He said with slight sorrow in the tone of his voice.
[Seeing that a slight pause in the converstaion didn't give him the hint to ask if I wanted to go, I asked him myself. Well, more so, told him I was going.]
Me: "I'll go with you!"

So we went. It sure wasn't that simple though. First off, I had to get ready. Second thing, we needed to get gas, purchase the tickets and pick up some goodies. We left an hour or more after the time we set to leave, but still had some time to stroll around the city.
Meet 'Blah Blah'. Don't ask why his face is censored, it just is. It's for my own privacy and his. Plus it adds some mystery to this blog. :]
So we get to SF. Parked like 7 or 8 blocks away from the venue with time to kill. Walked half way towards the venue to realize we forget our goodies & our tickets.
Don't ask why he's in the back seat, he just was for the time being. :]
Grabbed the goodies & tickets then finally had some time to stroll around and find somewhere to eat. At this point I wanted anything we came across and Burger King it was!
Don't judge me. I workout. Lol!
We ate, conversed, laughed, cried, danced.. sike na! Haha. Finally we headed down to The Regency Ballroom to see Mr. Cudi and the night unfolds from there...
Ooo! And check the footage I got of Cudi forgetting his lyrics! Of course, Mary made him do it! i swear it was such perfect timing for me to record. By the way, I'm not holding anything against him for forgetting. It happens, it's just for giggles.

And there you have it!
A walk in my shoes going to the Kid Cudi Show. Hope you had fun!

Wardrobe Ensemble: #1.

Please welcome a new edition to my blog, Wardrobe Ensemble.

Here's a simple look I put together for the Kid Cudi show. Not the "typical" concert get-up, but I was verrrry comfortable. Check it out!
Wavy hair, just don't care. ;]
I call this top, my granny top(Urban Outfitters). With a cute, gold, picture locket to accessorize.
Though I'm almost positive grannies wouldn't rock a tee cut this short.
Mm.. It can't get any skinnier(Forever 21).
My favorite part of the whole look, my shoes. Loooove these! So what if if they lean to the side just a little bit? So what if I didn't tie my laces? So what if I got it from a thrift store?
& Of course, an army green coat went right along with it for the cool winds that San Francisco blows.

There you have it! My first Wardrobe Ensemble post!

Does it work?

Feed back on this outfit or future post, would be really cool! Positive or negative!

Random Tweet Of Kindness: Daily Love.

-Little Miss Sunshine

Cover Page: Rihanna On GQ.

Misses Good-Girl-Gone-Bad took bad to another level by looking good!

Here is Rihanna on the cover of GQ for the January 2010 issue:
Since all the commotion happened early 2009, Rihanna has been the talk of the town. Everyone is looking at her next move with close speculation. I've noticed since she came back, she has put this hard rock persona out for the world to believe. In such a short amount of time, she has "healed" and put out there to talk about it. It's not bad at all to talk about what happened in her situation. I just can't buy the act that she as hard as she puts out there.

These set of photos from Rihanna is such a breath of fresh air. To see her in a soft light is a nice change from what she has put out there. I love the edgy, rock hard Rihanna, but I don't mind seeing the girl next door either. With a little sex appeal and less black, Rihanna is still that good girl wanting to be bad in my eyes.

Check It: You're Such A Doll.

I can't imagine living in this world filled with perfect, plastic people. In the mind of photographer, Alex Sandwell Kliszynski, that idea was in this head and made it reality. Well, as real as our imagination can take it.

"Alex Sandwell Kliszynski is a photographer who does wedding photography and portraits, he has also produces a curious series of art photography. He says his work explores the idea of the human/dollcomposite.

It is intended as a satirical take on the pornographic image, posing questions about desire and fantasy and their representation in mainstream post-feminist culture. He alsodraw attention to the objectification of the body and, at the same time, the disassociation between the commercialised male sexual fantasy and everyday experience of intimate relationships."

I love when ideas as ill conceived as doll like pornography is faced in front of people to analyze. It's fascinating to see how our society views as an ideal body. From dolls to pornography to celebrities, there is so much pressure to be "prefect" and have the most sex appeal. Being a woman and knowing women, the pressure seems to take a larger toll on us. Not to say that men don't have pressure to look a certain way, but in my opinion, men don't care as much. In this society, if men do show any insecurities, as far as appearance goes, they are told they aren't suppose to feel that way because that is what women worry about.

I say forget society. Love your body and treat it with the utmost respect. Don't change yourself or force immediate change for others. Do it for you. It's your body and you should be satisfied with it. I'm not saying eat whatever you want or don't eat anything, there is your own health to be looking out for. Like they say "your body is a temple, treat it that way".

It's Been Too Long.

Well hello there!
I am very aware of my empty presences on this blog and that is going to change real quick!

First off, I want to explain the sudden disappearing act. I know. It has been WAY too long! I feel like after I bought a domain from WordPress, the frustration of trying to understand WordPress discouraged me to keep up. I decided, until someone takes me on a WordPress tutorial, then SSOM.com can take off. I rushed into it leaving me feel, well, rushed. For now I will stay comfortable in my blogspot space and keep blogging from here. Meanwhile, I'll try and figure out WordPress, but until then blogspot is my home.

Other than trying to mangle around with my WordPress site, I have taken a step back as far as what I want to write about on this blog. I got tired of trying to catch up with celebrity gossip and things of that nature. I'll leave the celebrity gossip blogging to the celebrity gossip bloggers. As far as my life goes, my world will still move even without being the first to see who's sleeping with who or who impregnated who. I want to be taken seriously as far as my writing goes. Turning this place as a celebrity gossip blog isn't the kind of recognition I want for myself. With that said I'm back and I'm ready to take this blog on a different type of journey. Please join me!

Dear, Readers.

It's official!

ColorMe-Sunshine.blogspot.com will no longer be my site to vent, write, or present my weird self to the world. I finally bought a domain with WordPress.com. Now there's nothing wrong with Blogger, except for the fact that I don't have too much control of the web layout. Some may argue that Blogger is just as versatile as WordPress, but I beg to differ on a count of me finding Wordpress to be a lot less complex when I decide to change things up. There are just a lot more options. With that said, I would love to present...

It's not close to being finished, but I'm going to start posting stuff on there regardless of the unfinished features of my site.

Quote Me: Maya Angelou.

LOL: 46 Stages Of Twitter.

There are still many people in this world that refuse to give into the ever-so-cool social networking site, Twitter. I think it's silly because you know deep down inside, all you nay sayers are going to end up getting one anyway. Might as well just join the crowd, sign up and follow muah(Twitter.com/Sunshiiine, lol). Also, quit the mockery, it'll save you some humiliation when us Tweoples say "I told you so". Just like when people stayed away from Facebook and listed all the flaws it had compared to MySpace. Now I catch them updating their status constantly and therefore I said "I told you so".

A victim of this world wide web epidemic is my friend Rose or should I say Ms. Twitter.com/BlueVelvetSea. She knows it and that is why she sent me this site which led me to find The 46 Stages Of Twitter. It's hilarious. Enjoy!

1. Hear the word Twitter.  Scoff.
2. Hear it again from someone else.  Scoff again.
3. Hear about famous celebrity who is apparently "On Twitter."  Scoff, but make mental note to check it out.
4. Log into Facebook to comfort self.
5. Sign up for Twitter.
6. Give up because it seems dumb.
7. Loudly criticize others on Twitter.
8. Follow @johncmayer, @aplusk, @rainnwilson, @wilw, @mrskutcher, @oprah, and one other person you actually know.
9. Post tweet that is a variant of: "Trying out this Twitter thing."
10. Attempt to dig a little deeper into Twitter.
11. Notice rampant usage of words: "Tweet," "Twitter," "Twitterverse," "Tweetie," "Tweetdeck," and something called "RT."
12. Scoff again, this time in confusion.
13. Tell friends you "tried that Twitter thing, but didn't get it and it's stupid anyway."
14. Log into Facebook because that site at least makes sense.
15. Read story about Twitter somewhere.
16. Log back into Twitter.
17. Try to avoid saying Tweet, Twitter, Twitterverse, Tweetie, Tweetdeck, and ReTweet.
18. Respond to @rainnwilson.
19. Curse self for fanning out.
20. Log off for 4 months.
21. Come back, just to see.
22. Post something relatively funny.
23. Get RT'd.
24. Discover that RT means ReTweet.
25. Make it your life mission to get RT'd.
26. Install Twitter app on your phone.
27. No longer ashamed to say "I've gotta Twitter that."
28. Attend events with the sole intention of "Tweeting" them.
29. Pray to get RT'd.
30. Refresh. Refresh. Refresh. Refresh. Refresh.
31. Close computer.
32. Open computer.  Refresh.  Refresh.  Refresh.
33. Think in 140 character sentences.
34. Compulsively check phone all day every day.
35. Tweet that you compulsively check phone all day every day.
36. Alienate actual people in your life in an attempt to impress ones you don't know.
37. Lose weight because you forget to eat.
38. Place phone by bed so you can check first thing in the morning.
39. Defend Twitter to the death from detractors.
40. Hear self, and vaguely recognize that you have become "That Guy."
41. Feel like, and start to behave like
River Tam.
42. Vow to quit Twitter to preserve sanity.
43. Read this and change mind.
44. Think to self, "I should twitter that."
45. Recognize irony.
46. Twitter it.

Current Events: RIP Derrion Albert.

As I'm watching this video of a 16 year old named, Derrion Albert, get beat to death by his peers with their fists, wooden planks and feet, makes me so upset. This unfortunate happening took place 3 blocks away from a Chicago, Illinois high school. I can't relate to being terrified of what is going to happen if I walk around my neighborhood. I don't fear everyday like it's my last. I don't know how it feels to lose people in my life at such a quick rate. When cases like these are displayed upon the world, it's so hard for me to face because I can only do so much. I wish I could hug every struggling person out there and let them know the world is more than money, hate or conformity. These kids lack love. These kids lack faith in life. As a human being it's hard for me to face the fact that people live like this daily and I am being ungrateful for my own life. Like I said I don't know how it is to struggle, but I know how it feels to hurt.

I know cases like this happen everyday and this footage is just a taste of the truth, but it had to be shown. Any evidence of something as tragic as this needs to be shown. If the country or world see it, then the likely hood of someone helping out or trying to make a small difference in anyone's life, still makes a difference.

I truthfully started to shed tears watching this video. It's not only the fact that Derrion, a student, a brother, a son of a mother, is brutally beaten to the floor, but the fact that this is real. This is what happens everyday. Violence and hatred happens everyday and that was the most heartbreaking thing to me. I really wish I could stop gang violence and innocent deaths, but at the end of the day that's life. We can't ever go back in time nor can we eliminate violence with a snap of our fingers, but we can be helpful and smarter with our lives. We can try to be as positive as can be, if not for ourselves, then for the next generation.

Here is the footage of the horrifying event that led to many injuries and a innocent, Derrion Albert's death:
