Breakfast - Cereal with low fat milk. Orange juice. And a banana or some type of fresh fruit, not a lot though.

Lunch - Turkey, dip it in a sauce of your choice, the bread is full of carbs, but if you're looking for weight loss, forget the bread. But I usually just use whole wheat bread. No chips, unless it's like pretzels. I would stick with the sandwich, turkey is a very lean meat and is good for you. More fruits, and some carrots or cucumber. Also, if you like tuna, tuna is good for you.

Dinner - Chicken breast, not crispy. Broccoli, brown rice ( stay away from white) and water.

As for snacks, fruits and veggies are always a good choice.

Those are just a few examples I could think of at the moment. Alot of the times I make a big batch of soup on the weekend and eat that as my lunch or dinner throughout the week. I read that giving yourself less than 3 options for mealtimes really helps you stick with your diet and I find that to be very true.. so make yourself a menu and write it down. Write down what
your going to eat everyday before you walk into the kitchen and stick to it. Good luck!

Dieting while pregnant...?

Sooo, any moms out there (starting out over-weight) watched their calories while pregnant? Drank slim-fast instead of milk, or exercised religiously and still had a healthy birth?...

Answer on Dieting while pregnant...?

Its ok to watch your calories while you are pregnant. Being pregnant does not give you a license to eat everything in sight, like I did with my first pregnancy. This one, I have been more careful, because weight is so so hard to lose. Don't deny yourself food, but recognize when you are genuinely hungry and when you just feel like eating. I watched my calories during the first 6 months and gained a grand total of 8 lbs. Then I went a little crazy and gained 8 lbs in a month, but I was eating tons of sweets. I have switched to a low glycemic diet to help control my blood sugar and I feel fuller. You should definitely watch what you eat while pregnant, but dont diet. If you are going to eliminate anything from your diet, carbs and sugar are a good place to start.

Has anyone tried or heard of the diet pill: Ghreleptin?

Now, I understand that this most likely will not be the "miracle pill". But I was thinking about taking a suppliment to aid in my weight loss along with my diet and excersice. Given that it seems like Ghreleptin is made from natural ingredients, do you think it will be safe? I'm more concerned about side effects than wasting $30.

Answer on Has anyone tried or heard of the diet pill: Ghreleptin?

I just finished researching this product, I went through each ingredient and I must say, I may have lost weight just reading all the info.

A few things concerned me though:

spinach extract: contains a natural ingredient called tylakoid which suppresses the appetite.

mustard seed extract: promotes appetite, digestion, and stimulates urine (can't be good if you have renal issues)

Guarana fruit: mostly used as a sexual stimulant

bitter orange: speeds up the heart rate, increases blood pressure and it's use is not recommended as a dietary supplement. These are increased when used with caffine! We already know how many of us are addicted to coffee.

I know this product may sound "natural" because of all the "food" names that you see in it but I don't recommend it.

For this one MAJOR reason:
the Hypothalamus Gland doesn't just control Ghrelin and Leptin. SO how can a pill differentiate between Ghrelin, Leptin, and reduce one and increase the other without influencing all other hormones.
You see my point I hope!

Remember that "weight loss" is a BUSINESS

Will you read this and see what you think about it...?

Michelangelo (1475-1564)

Michelangelo was born in 1475 in the country we now know as Italy. His childhood was not a very good one. Michelangelo’s mother died when he was six, and his father was extremely stern and demanding. When Michelangelo turned thirteen, his father sent him away to become an apprentice.
He lived in the Medici palace along with all the other artists, poets, and their apprentices. The Medici was the richest family in Florence, and practically owned the city. There, he learned how to paint and sculpt.
Michelangelo was a very trying person, known for using colorful and severe language when angry. Whenever a fight broke out among the apprentices, Michelangelo was sure to be there. One of these fights ended with Michelangelo’s broken nose, which, in later years, was the cause of the woman he loved turning him down.
Even so, Michelangelo was a deeply religious man, and believed that one could show their devotion to God in other ways versus crawling about on the floor, mumbling His name in praise.
One day, in the country-city of Vatican, located in Rome, several people decided to build a chapel. Naming it after the pope at the time, it is probably almost as famous Michelangelo himself: The Sistine Chapel.
The pope, once the Chapel was completed, then sent a letter to Michelangelo, inviting him to come and paint the walls and ceiling of the new chapel. Michelangelo refused, explaining that he was a sculptor, not a painter. The pope was furious. Sending another letter to Michelangelo, this one said that he would be excommunicated if he did not come.
Michelangelo grudgingly agreed to meet with the pope. Upon arrival, he probably said something that went a little like this:
Michelangelo (angrily): Okay, pope. Let’s get one thing straight. I will paint The Sistine Chapel, under one condition.
Pope (warily and unsure): And, just what would that be?
Michelangelo (continuing): That you do not dare set foot in that chapel, because if you do, if you try to “correct” what I paint, you will hear no more from me. You take care of the people, I take care of the work. Only when I am finished, and only then, may you step inside and look upon my work.
Michelangelo respected, but hated the pope, as well as vice versa. He strode into The Sistine Chapel, and set to work. Painting night and day, eating and sleeping only occasionally, months passed as Michelangelo’s efforts progressed.
Meanwhile, the pope paced nervously in his room, biting his fingernails and mumbling angrily. A servant approached him. “What’s wrong, Your Holiness?” The pope turned on him. “I want to see what that infuriating painter Michelangelo is doing in my chapel!” The servant replied calmly, “But, what about the deal you two made? You cannot walk in there dressed like this. You must go dressed in a casual person’s clothes, and at night.”
The pope took the servant’s advice, and went to the chapel dressed in rags, and at night. He stepped across the threshold, and tiptoed across the floor. Then, a horrified shriek was heard.
The next morning, the pope stormed into the Chapel, absolutely outraged. “Michelangelo!” he shouted. “Change that right now!” he said, positively furious, pointing at Michelangelo’s painting of the Inferno. In the depiction of Hell, the burning sinners had the faces of all the cardinals and archbishops and bishops. “Paint those faces again!” the pope nearly screamed.
Michelangelo shook his head. “No. If you want me to repaint, then I shall repaint the whole thing. Is that what you want?” The pope shouted again, saying something more about “only the faces.” Michelangelo stomped his foot on the ground and swore.
Either you leave this be or I cover it in white! These men will be dead in twenty more years! No one will recognize them! This is the way I see the Inferno! It is my will to paint what I wish!”
The pope trudged out in a huff, and Michelangelo continued to paint. On the ceilings, several chapters of the Bible had been painted. Adam and God were touching fingers in the first one, known as the Creation, and in the next, it showed the marriage of Adam and Eve. An apple tree was between them, with a black serpent, the Devil, curled around its trunk.
In the next, it showed the banishment of Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden. Adam and Eve had been immortal, but when they had eaten from the Forbidden Fruit, they became mortal, having to bear children to keep the line going. God had said to Adam, “You will sweat and strain when hard at work to remind you of what you have done. And you Eve,” he said, turning to her, “ shall suffer during childbirth to remind you of the sin you have committed.”
That is why babies need to be baptized… to forgive them of their “original sin.” The serpent now symbolizes this sin. Those who have gazed upon Michelangelo’s paintings are surprised to find that his figures are quite sculptural, even though they have been created in paint. Michelangelo con

Answer on Will you read this and see what you think about it...?

I think you have reminded us of a great artistic genuis. His depictions have inspired many generations and will continue to do so. His sculpture of the Pieta is so meaningful to me. It shows the Virgin Mother Mary holding the body of her Son, Jesus after He is taken off the cross after the Crucifixion.
